Getting started

What actually happens at a Career Preview

One hour, no pressure, and no one asks you to sign anything. Here is exactly what to expect.

If you've never sat in on a Career Preview, it's normal to wonder whether it's a hard sell in disguise. It isn't. A Career Preview is a conversation, not a recruitment pitch. You come to look, and we answer your questions honestly.

Before you arrive

After you leave your details on our site, someone from Team Venus calls or texts you to agree on a schedule. You don't need to prepare anything. Come as you are, after work is fine. If something comes up, just tell us and we'll move it.

The hour, roughly

  1. Getting to know you (10 minutes). What you do now, what you like about it, and what made you curious. There are no wrong answers.
  2. What a financial advisor does (15 minutes). The real job: meeting families, understanding what they need to protect, and recommending a plan. We also cover what the job is not.
  3. How we train you (15 minutes). The licensing exam, product training, and how one-on-one mentoring works in your first months.
  4. A typical week (10 minutes). What advisors on our team actually do from Monday to Sunday, full-time and part-time.
  5. Your questions (10 minutes or more). Ask about income, schedules, quotas, anything. We'd rather you ask now than wonder later.

What we won't do

We won't ask you to pay anything. We won't ask you to sign up on the spot. We won't promise you'll be rich in six months. Anyone who promises that about any career is not being straight with you.

The best outcome isn't that you join. It's that you leave knowing whether this is right for you.

After the session

Take your time. Some people decide in a day, others take a few weeks and come back with more questions. If you want to go ahead, we'll walk you through the next steps, starting with the licensing requirements. If you decide it's not for you, that's a good result too. You'll have spent one hour to know for sure.

Can I bring someone?

Yes. Many people bring a spouse, a friend or a parent, especially when a career change affects the whole family. Just let us know when we confirm your schedule.
